Is there a monthly minimum?
No. Pay-as-you-go means you only pay for what you use, drawn from a wallet you top up. If you stay inside the free tier, you pay $0.
How does BYOK billing work?
Bring your own provider API key (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) and the 5% token commission disappears. The provider bills you directly. We charge nothing for the request itself.
What counts as a monthly active end-user?
Any end-user that makes at least one request in a calendar month. We dedupe on the end-user ID you pass in. The first 10k each month are free.
How is the 5% calculated?
We take the provider's published rate for the model + tokens used, multiply by 1.05, and debit your wallet. Per-request, transparent in the logs.
Can I cap spend?
Yes — set a wallet auto-stop at any balance, and per-end-user budgets through the existing budget system. We never auto-charge beyond what's in your wallet.
What about agent / MCP tool calls?
First 1,000 MCP tool calls per platform per month are free — covers most teams shipping their first product. After that, $0.001 per call ($1 per 1k). The provider's API call (GitHub, Slack, Linear) uses your OAuth and is billed by them, not us. Counter resets on the 1st of each month. Scale tier negotiates the per-call rate down.
What about skills?
First 5,000 skill calls per platform per month are free — covers find_skill, fetch_skill, create_skill, and submit_skill_review combined. After that, $0.0004 per call ($0.40 per 1k) — about 2.5× cheaper than MCP tool calls because search and FS reads are simpler to serve than tool execution. Skill folder size is set by the source repo, not by you, so the rate stays flat regardless of how big the skill is. Scale tier negotiates and adds a dedicated catalog mirror so search latency stays flat at 100M+ calls/month.
When should I move to Scale?
Once you're spending more than ~$5k/month or need a custom commission, dedicated routing region, or SOC 2 paperwork. Reach out and we'll write a contract.
