“Paragraph is a platform for anyone who wants to publish and monetize a newsletter,” Armstrong told CoinDesk in an email.
There are two options for creators: They can either publish their newsletters on the platform or they can simply use Paragraph’s API services to incorporate NFT capabilities into their existing websites and applications.
As to why Armstrong created the company, he said he wanted to help creators remove the “middlemen” from making money from content.
Today, most membership publishers monetize by taking a fee from transactions between readers and writers, he said. Writers have tried various forms of self-publishing for newsletters over the years, but have always relied on third parties like Substack and Mailchimp to facilitate payments between writers and readers.

Cloud computing is a great thing: it's reliable, affordable, and scalable. But it's not perfect. It’s not enough to worry about data security. Data availability is a concern too.
In the present, a server that goes down takes everything dependent on it with it, too. If a centralised cloud service like AWS is ever compromised, its customers’ data would be available to hackers. It can't have escaped anyone's notice that cloud services are highly vulnerable to manipulation. The internet is not as decentralized as people think.
If your business uses AWS and you enable automatic updates, there's a good chance that at some point in the future, an update will break something—and when that happens, everything dependent on it will go down with it.
In fact, this has already happened: In 2017, an AWS S3 outage took down many popular websites including Dow Jones, Tinder and Quora for several hours.
We should all be wary of entering into long contracts with only a few big companies that can provide us with crucial services like cloud computing and data storage. Read more...
The future is here.Human-AI collaboration has been a staple of science fiction for decades, but now it's becoming a reality.
The idea is to come up with a new version of the experiment that can show something new. It seems likely that the best way to do this, at least in the short term, is to have some sort of hybrid human-machine collaboration that uses machine learning algorithms to identify promising avenues for research and then highlights them for human scientists to explore or demonstrate. This process is far easier for researchers than attempting to design the experiment from scratch.
This made us realise that this would be useful “for creating new forms of multi-particle entangled states, entanglement swapping, and quantum gates, which were previously beyond our intuition.”

The innovative artificial intelligence software will help fertility clinics save time and money.
Today, 1 in 8 couples struggle with infertility, and the treatment options are expensive. A single in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle in the U.S. costs around $12,000, and that price can rise up to $25,000 with medication. And many patients don't just go through one cycle, but three to five cycles on average in order to have a successful pregnancy.
After two years of R&D, startup Alife launched new artificial intelligence software to help fertility clinics optimize and support clinical decision-making during critical stages of the IVF process.
"I founded the company in 2020 really with the focus on trying to bring advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to the IVF sector," said Paxton Maeder-York, founder and CEO of Alife, in an exclusive interview
The IVF sector is AI's newest friend. Read more...
